PROJECTS > COASTAL ENGINEERING AND PORTS
The Bassetes Marina, in the northern coast of Alicante, is sited in a superb landscape near the Natural Park of the "Peñón de Ifach", near the towns of Moraira and Calpe.
Built in little harbour, it has 80 berths for boats up to 16m length, a diving school and maintenance facilities. However, the winter storms and their rough waves, cause frequently damages in boats and infraestructure inside the docks area.
The project's challenge has been to give to the marina the needed shelter works to solve or reduce these damages, but keeping in mind the environmental conditions. So, it was necessary to increase the external dock high until 6.2 meters, and, the project designs a totally new building for the social club and diving school, and a wide terrace connected to the upper level of the dock, in order to integrate this wall.
